Panzer Corps 2 – Axis Operations 1939 DLC Releases Today

The second DLC in the initial wave of Panzer Corp 2‘s ‘Axis Operations’ expansion run is releasing today. Axis Operations- 1939 follows on from the events of the first Spanish Civil War DLC, and covers the Wehrmacht’s operations in the early stages of the Second World War.

These new missions will cover operations known and obscure, from the annexation of Czechoslovakia, through to the little-known Saar Offensive conducted by the French, to offensives in Poland and even Denmark.

As is common with Panzer Corps, you can import your core forces from a valid Spanish Civil War save, or use a pre-set force. You also don’t need to have completed SCW before you play 1939.

Here’s a summary trailer which goes through the key points of the DLC:

And here is the full scenario list:

  • Czechoslovakia
  • Sarreguemines
  • Warndt Forest
  • Orenthal
  • Forbach
  • Saarbrucken
  • Battle of the Bzura
  • Modlin
  • Brest Litovsk
  • L’vov
  • Wlodawa
  • Warsaw
  • Raate Road
  • Taipale
  • Denmark

Bill is on the case for us, and our review of this expansion will be published next week. 1939 is the final DLC that owners of the Field Marshal edition will be getting for free. They’ve also been able to play the expansion early for the past couple of weeks, but now it’s available for everyone to purchase.

Panzer Corps 2: Axis Operations – 1939 will be released on Steam and the Slitherine store later today. Price is still TBD, but it will probably cost roughly the same as Spanish Civil War.
